1. On Friday the girls and I have a "summer day" where we pretended like we don't have to work and go to day-care every weekday during the summer. We went to Big Creek with friends in the morning and played on the playground. We were going to play in the water, but it was super gross and really smelly. So we played on the playground instead. We also had a little picnic lunch at one of the new shelters there (they are really nice!) Then we headed home for a late nap (for the girls) and cleaning/laundry (for me). The girls must have had too much fun and excited from the adventure, because they decided they did not want to take a nap. This meant an early bedtime for both of them (and me!)
2. Saturday morning we had our annual zoo day with friends. The weather was really nice and we had a blast! We fed the parakeets (first time doing that) and the girls rode the camel (Neve's first time). We also fed the giraffe--- always really fun to do. We finished the trip with a picnic lunch before heading home. When we got home Ellie took a great nap. Neve on the other hand decided napping was overrated, and just talked and sang in her crib.
3. Saturday afternoon Nick smoked up some meat for dinner with friends. After dinner we had a fire in the driveway and roasted up some s'mores. Then it was time for the kids to go to bed and the grown-ups watch a movie.
4. While at Costco on Sunday we ran into my best friend from high school! She sat with the girls and me as we ate lunch. Always a fun time when you get to catch-up with a friend.
5. Monday night I helped my sister set-up her new classroom. I guess it is the wanna-be teacher in me coming out!
