5 on Friday

1. We had a pretty low key week, which was needed and very much enjoyed!

2. We love the beautiful weather we are having in July!   That translates into lots of time playing outside.

3. On Monday we received notice that Neve would start visiting the next room up at day-care!  On Tuesday she spent part of the day in the younger room and part in the older room.  From the sounds of it, she fits right in with the older room and is doing great with the change.   She must be keeping busy, because she is coming home exhausted and a little cranky.  She officially starts in the new room on Monday.  My guess is she will be heading to bed early that night!

4. Ellie has been getting up in the middle of the night for the past few weeks.   Usually it is either because it is too dark in her room (despite the super bright nite-lite) or she is sad (although we are not sure why).   Last night she woke up and  I asked her what her name was.  She said, "Neve."   She also immediately fell back asleep once she was in her bed.   Anyone had experience with this?   And how do we fix it (because I would love to sleep through the night again!).

5. When summer started Ellie realized that her neighbors had the summer off and got to stay home each and every day (those teachers and their summers off!).  She did not understand why she could not do the same.  I told her I could take a day or two off and we could have "summer days" as well.   Then I was asked to be on a project at work, and I have not been able to be away from the office (until our vacation last week).  With teachers starting back as school in just over a week, I decided we needed to get at least one "summer day" in.    I meant to take Tuesday off, but something came up with the project at work and I was unable to be gone.   That means today is our first (and most likely only) "summer day" with the neighbors (although one neighbor has to work and the other took a new job which has her already back in school).  I am excited for a beautiful day at Big Creek!
