Ellie and the Olympics

When we visited the Dr. the other week he mentioned that Ellie needed to have more tummy time, as the right side of her head was getting a little too flat. She hasn't been a big fan of the tummy time, partially because of her cold and partially because she would rather be on her back looking at her mobile. This weekend we found the cure for the problem- a combo of tummy time and watching the Olympics! For some reason Ellie LOVES watching the Olympics. I turned the TV and by chance it happened to be on the Olympics--- she was put into an instant trance. Turn the channel to another show, she is not a fan. She has even started showing emotions as she watches them (and is not as much of a fan of the commercials). Here are a few pictures (and Ellie's thoughts):

Happy Valentine's Day- from a 3 month old!

I figured I had a few more years until I was making Valentine's for Ellie's day-care friends, but I was a few years off on that assumption. I guess even infants need to exchange Valentine's, as Ellie's list of names for kids in her room came home with her last week!

With everything else going on, I was planning on skipping a year of making Valentine's cards so I didn't have any ideas in my head. Lucky for me, a quick trip to my favorite scrapbooking store, Hierlooms By Design, and a little help from the owner, Marge, and her wonderful card designers, I had all the materials I needed and an idea to work off of.

Yes, I do know that I could have gone to the local Target or Walmart and purchased a pack of little kid Valentine's, but where is the fun in that! So here are Ellie's first Valentine's cards that she handed out to her friends at day-care, and a few other important people in her life:

Three Months!

Another month of amazing memories from an even more amazing little baby girl!

This month she:

Officially entered the Catholic church (baptism)

Learned to sleep without a swaddle blanket (at least during the day)

Made the ladies at Target turn their heads to look at her (when she was out running errands with her Daddy- sans Mommy)

Met her future BFFs (Gracie and Lucie)

Battled her first cold (and won)

Started a tradition of spending Wednesday nights with her favorite Godmother and Godfather (and Baxter the Dog)

AND

Continues to keep people wrapped around her little finger (which are growing quite nicely)

My aunt sent me this forward about a charity sweepstakes tied to the movie 'Extraordinary Measures.' I first watched the video mentioned below with Ellie in my arms, it made me cry almost immediately. To think of having a happy healthy baby and then life changes so suddenly, I cannot imagine.
