Genevieve's Baptism

Two weeks after the fire, we celebrated Genevieve's baptism at St. Boniface Church in Waukee.   Although it was not what I had planned (and oh I had plans), it was exactly what we needed at that point.

We finished up the celebration with lunch at Pizza Ranch's party room.    I was very relieved when I called they had a room available, and they were kind enough to not charge us a rental fee.  It was a great day and we really appreciate the Grandparents and Godparents for making it so special.

The Trampoline

We had been trying to find this trampoline for purchase for a while now- with no luck until recently.  Our friends have it and Ellie loves using it every time. we visit.   We got lucky and Nick found it on a discount website last week.   It arrived this week and is already getting lots of use.  Ellie loves it as you can tell by the video and pictures!

Genevieve 4 Month Stats

This little girl turned 4-months old the other week (although this picture is her 3 month picture).   Like her sister, she is topping the charts.  Here are her stats:

Neve's 4-month StatsHeight: 26 3/4 inches (99th percentile)
Weight: 16 pounds 5 ounces (85th percentile)
Head Cir.: 16 1/2 inches (82th percentile)

Ellie's 4-month StatsHeight: 26 1/4 inches (99th percentile)
Weight: 16 pounds 8 ounces (96th percentile)
Head Cir.: 16 3/4 inches (68th percentile)

It is amazing how close they are in their numbers.  We just make big babies and keep them big (since Ellie is still one of the tallest kids in her class).

5 on Friday

1.  We purchased a new car on Saturday!   We now have a big grey car and a little grey car.   Ellie was very excited since she got a new pink carseat to go in the big grey car.  We ended up going with a Honda Pilot and are in love with it!  It will still be our spare car, so it will be driven about once a week.  But when we do need a big car to put big purchases in (which we are sure to have a lot in the next year), we have it!

2. The Olympics started!   I think NBC needs to start their broadcast a little earlier (say 6PM at night), that way Ellie can watch more of it and I can get to bed earlier.  All three of us girls are glued to the TV.  Ellie's favorite is swimming... complete with goggles and all.  During the bike race on Saturday it was the bike helmet and one of Daddy's spare bike seats.   I think we have pictures I will post later.

3. I have been getting to bed late (see #2) and the girls have been waking up in the middle of the night.   Makes for a tired work day. 

4. Genevieve had her 4 month check-up on Monday.  She is growing like a weed and doing great.   I think the Dr. visit threw her off a little, as she was up for about 2 hours that night talking away in her crib.   Although I love my happy baby and her baby sounds, I was not so fond of them at 3AM.

5. Ellie is really into her facial expressions and expressing moods.   It is very funny, although she likes to show them to me when she should be going to bed.  Sneaky little girl knows how to delay bedtime.

5 on Friday

1.  I forgot to mention Genevieve rolled over a week a go Sunday (7/15).  The other day she rolled over, lifted her head up and gave Ellie and I the biggest smile--- she was pretty proud of herself.

2. We had an amazing weekend.   Friday night we bathed the girls, cleaned the condo, grocery shopped, did laundry and went swimming.   That made the rest of the weekend full of 'play-time' with car shopping on Saturday, a first birthday party for our Godson/nephew/cousin, Liam, on Saturday and a fun day with Nick's relatives in town from TX on Sunday.   It was such a perfect weekend and I was really sad for it to end.

3. Tuesday night I got to hang out with one of my college friends who is due with twins in December.  It was great to catch up, and be able to do so at the new Other Place (OP) just like in college (without the alcohol due to her pregnancy and my nursing).  Oh how times change.

4. Genevieve had a hungry day on Wednesday and Thursday.  Complete with a middle of the night feedings, something she has not done since she was 7 weeks old.   While I love any cuddle time I get with the little girl (and middle of the night smiles are always appreciated), we do not need to do it on a regular basis.

5. Genevieve turned 4 months old on Wednesday.  She has had a very eventful 4 months.

Zoo Time

The other week we took a trip to the 

Blank Park Zoo with the Beltman Family.    

Although it was a hot one, 

a good time was had by all.

Happy Fourth of July

The girls all dressed up in their red, white and blue 

(or as close as I could get on the 2nd of July since we did not have our regular clothes back).

We got to spend the day with this little guy, and his mommy and daddy.  Our Godson is just the cutest! The mommy's went to the pool during nap-time, and then we all had a little fun in the water (sorry, no pictures).
