1. I missed last weeks "5 on Friday" since we were on vacation in the Wisconsin Dells and our internet access was not the greatest. I will add a couple items this weekend in an effort to make up for it.
2. Nick said he had a great Father's Day. He got to sleep in, go on a bike ride and sit outside with the neighbors while the kids played with some water toys.
3. We went to the Dells starting on Wedesday the 19th. We stayed in a three-bedroom condo at Chula Vista Resort with my sister (her husband and our almost 2-year old nephew) and my parents. Chula Vista has an indoor and outdoor waterpark-- so we were set for whatever weather we may have. We had a great time.
4. The kids loved the waterparks! We visited them multiple times a day and they were always sad to leave. Pictures to come later. Liam is definately the adventurous one of the group, my memories of the trip are him pulling his Mom or Dad's hand so he could go on the slide again (and again and again). Ellie, not so much of a risk-taker. I think a happy Neve is more adventurous than Ellie, just a difference between the two girls. That being said, Ellie did go down all the waterslides that she was tall enough to go on. I was proud of her for tryin them, and she was smiling after going down each and every one. Neve would be standing in the water, go to step forward and fall into the water. I would immediately stand her back up again. At first it didn't phase her, but after a while she was not a fan and wanted to be held.
5. Neve has had a runny nose for a number of weeks. I think it turned into a full fledge cold while we were in WI. Between that and teething (two top teeth, two bottom teeth and molars all at once), she was not herself. Nights were the worst, as she would wake-up crying and we had a hard time getting her to go back to bed. Not fun when you are in a hotel with fairly thin walls. On the positive side- Ellie did great with Neve's night wake-ups. Neve also wanted to be held a lot and was very much a "Mommy's girl." Poor baby.
6. Nick went biking on Thursday while we were in WI. There is a trail less than 2 hours away that he loves to ride (he has been there for a couple of biking trips with friends). I was nervous about him riding it alone, but he made it back safe and seemed to have a great time.
7. My mom, sister and I hit up the Tanger Outlet mall in the the Dells. I made sure everyone in our family had at least one new item as a result of the shopping trip! I wouldn't want anyone to feel left out. :) I love to shop and at outlet prices it is hard to resist. Ellie loves her new Gap sweatshirt--- she put it on immediately! Neve's new summer PJ's are working great.
8. On Saturday, we traveled from the Dells to Janesville for my cousin's wedding. Nick and I first meet my cousin's then-girlfriend at our wedding over 5 years ago. Megan (my cousin's now-wife) actually caught the my bouquet! It was meant to be! It was a beautiful wedding and it was great to see all my aunts, uncles, cousins and second-cousins! All 9 of my Mom's siblings made it, and all but 2 of the cousins were in attendence. Fifty-three of us total (if I remembered to count correctly)! I think Ellie and Neve had a great time dancing the night away. Side note: I painted Neve's toes for the wedding. First time I have done that. They look so cute and all three of us girls had matching toes!
9. By the end of the WI trip, Ellie, Neve and I all had colds. I hate summer colds. I guess it is better than the stomach flu that Ellie had a month ago. I am hoping a little extra sleep (in our own beds) this weekend will help get rid of them.
10. Our sod was replaced this week! The last item from the fire to deal with. We were scheduled to get it replaced the end of May, but with all the rain they were unable to cut the sod. Since we have new sod to water, I am guessing we will have a dry rest of the summer.
