5 on Friday

1. We had a great weekend!  We got together with one of my friends from high-school and his family on Saturday night and had our new monthly dinner with other friends on Sunday night.   I think Ellie was tired from all the fun!

2. We had a few days without runny noses!  It was great.  And then it ended and we have them once again.

3. The tube in Ellie's right ear has fallen out.   Add in a little cold and you have an ear infection!  Ugh.   The Dr. said 3 in 6 months before they look at putting another tube in.  1 down and 2 to go.   Could it be that both girls have tubes put in during 2013?

4. Last Saturday I baked bread and cinnamon rolls.  I felt very domestic, and it was a fun break from studying.  Ellie even helped with the kneeding.  The minute you tell her she can help with any sort of cooking she runs to get her apron and step stool.  Sometimes she brings them out before you invite her to help.

5. I love watching Neve chase after her big sister.   We were playing on the floor having 'family time' the other night and wherever Ellie went Neve followed.  This included climbing on Mommy or Daddy.  It was super cute.

5 on Friday

1. Ellie had a friend from day-care over last Saturday morning.  She thought it was the greatest and I think the friend had a good time as well (she cried when it was time to leave).

2. Ellie has been crying and calling for Mommy and Daddy at bed-time lately.  I told her she could have ice cream if she didn't cry and call out... it worked and she went to bed right away.  Not that I am in favor of bribing my kid, but it did work and we have had quiet bed-times ever since.

3. We found a movie (other than Toy Story) that Ellie likes!  We rented Secret of the Wings and she loved it!  Looks like that will be on our 'to buy'list in the near future.

4. Neve is working on standing on her own!

5. Neve is also doing a great job with 'so big', clapping and high fives.

5 on Friday- a little late

I know, I missed my normal 5 on Friday post.   No real excuse, just got busy and forgot about it.  So here it is:

1. We had a great weekend with hardly anything planned.  It was nice to stay at home after all the busy holiday activities.

2. The girls and I went to the mall on Wednesday.  Took something back, picked a few things up, grabbed dinner and played in the play area.   We had a fun time, but I do not expect to do it again soon.  At least until Neve is going to bed later than 7PM (getting to the mall and stuff done between 5PM and 6:45PM is not easy).

3. I am amazed at how much table food Neve is eating.  To think that she just started baby food less than 4 months ago and now she is eating fruits and pasta is crazy.  

4. I think Ellie is going through a growth spurt.  She is eating everything under the sun and then is still hungry.  She doesn't want to get up in the morning for day-care (she is too tired) and has been a little off.

5. We have some Amazon Prime Instant Video $ credits to use.    Since Nick doesn't like the quality of the streaming he doesn't use them, so we have been letting Ellie watch a new Disney movie each weekend.   The first one we watched was Princess and the Frog.   While it was cute, Ellie was not a big fan and it got a little too scarey for her.  I like this because the $ credits were free and I had considered buying the this movie for her/me.  So glad I didn't buy a movie that she wouldn't want to watch.  And we move onto a different movie for next week.

5 on Friday

1. We have enjoyed our extra time at home the past week.  Now if we could just be back to a normal schedule for the girls.

2. Neve had her 9-month well baby check-up on Monday.   She is right on track developmentally and the only concern is the number of ear infections she has has.  We will watch them closely and look at tubes if needed.

3. I cannot believe it is 2013!  Where did 2012 go?  

4. We had a fun New Year's Eve.  We celebrated at home and had a few friends over.  I am really proud that the grown-ups stayed up past midnight, although it threw my schedule off for the next couple of days.

5. I am amazed and how much table food Neve is eating.  For a while I was thinking she was behind the curve a little on eating the more solid foods.  Not anymore.  And she is no longer a fan of me spoon feeding her--- independent little child she is.

Driving the Car

Ellie received a book that turns into a car for Christmas.   At first her and cousin Natalie were taking turns driving the car (while the other one filled up the gas tank), but then they decided it would be more fun to ride in the car together!   I was surprised they both fit--- pretty impressive for a book.

Christmas Eve

A picture of those grandkids that made it to Grandpa and Grandma Greving's on Christmas Eve.  As with most kids this age, we take what we can get (and who we can get happy and looking at the camera) picture wise.

Best Friends

I love that these two kiddos interact with each other now. 

Liam LOVES Neve, and Neve is pretty fond of Liam.
